Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento
Ashton Blaise Whitty, born October 1, 1995, was born in Berkeley, California. She is an American actress who has appeared in Choices (2010) and The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2004).
Asia Argento began her career as an actress at the age of nineteen in Rome. She is part of a family that also includes a number of film makers. When she made her debut, she was only 9 years young in the film of Sergio Citti, Sogni e Bisogni in 1988. she played the lead role in the debut film of Cristina Comencini, Zoo, and was part of the cast of The Church directed by Michele Soavi. Red Wood Pigeon, the film she appeared in as Nanni Moretti's daughter was released just a few years later. However, it came from Close Friends by Michele Placido that saw Asia's acting career begin to take off. The film was highly acclaimed at the Cannes International Film Festival. Her father was in the film for the very first time in Trauma, a renowned Italian director of horror, Dario Argento. The mother of her, Daria Nicoleli, is the most adored actress of Argento, and she was the anorexic trying to track down her parents' killer. Asia was a part of Dario's Phantom of the Opera, the third film she co-directed together with her father. Two of them included Trauma and The Stendhal Syndrome. In 1993, she was a co-star in Carlo Verdone's Perdiamoci di vista in which she was Arianna an physically handicapped girl--an intricate, difficult part that earned an award from David di Donatello for best actress She also had a featured role in the international cast of Queen Margot directed by Patrice Chereau. In 1995, she was a co-star together with Michel Piccoli on Peter Del Monte's Compagna di viaggio. This collaboration won her the David di Donatello prize as well as an award called a Grolla oro. Asia began directing short films in 1994. She also directed an episode for the film De Generazione. 1996 saw her direct a documentary with her dad. 1998 saw her direct AbelAsia which was a film about famous director Abel Ferrara. This film was awarded a prize at the Rome Film Festival. Asia began her debut feature film in 1999, Scarlet Diva. In the film, she was the lead actress and also directed the script. The film released on May 1, 2000 in Italy and all over the world. The Williamsburg Film festival located in Brooklyn, New York awarded the film with a award.
