Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinct mixture of soul gospel, R&B as well as R&B. She has performed on Broadway as well as at the Democratic National Convention and in clubs and festivals throughout Europe. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. Though she lives in Atlanta but she is from Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing and playing the piano in churches. She studied at Spellman College and began to study the R&B styles of Atlanta. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals,"Stalk You a House 12 was only released in Japan. It has been remixed numerous times and it is a mainstay of her live show. Her voice has also been a part of vocals to The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005, she became the drummer in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) offered her the position of choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta in the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media notice during the four performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during the Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
